Teacher - Data & Digital Leadership workshops (part-time)

Decoded is looking for a part-time Teacher to join our Teaching Team, working 3-4 days per week. As a Teacher you will support our Product Development team in delivering our best-in-class workshops to learners in our Data Academy and Data Mindset programmes. Your time will be spent preparing for delivery, teaching workshops and providing peer-review on our curriculum. 

You will also work with the Teaching Director to define best practices and share your experience with the team.

You can work remotely from anywhere in the GMT + 2 time zones. When we return to in-person training you may have the opportunity to travel around the region and beyond.

As a Teacher at Decoded, you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching our data science learning content at in-person workshops, hackathons, webinars, video recordings and other mediums we may develop in the future
  • Supporting product developers and teacher training, where appropriate
  • Travelling to workshops in the UK and abroad, when necessary
  • Honing your skills as an educator and building your knowledge of andragogy and teaching theory
  • Providing training, mentoring or support to other teachers, where appropriate
  • Representing Decoded by giving external talks and attending client meetings, when necessary

    A successful candidate will be expected to achieve the following within 3-6 months:

    • Autonomous management of workshop delivery
    • Confidence to successfully deliver at 80% of our Mindset workshops
    • An overall Learner Feedback score +8/10
    • An overall Teacher KPI score of 75%

    You will report into the Teaching Director

        DAY TO DAY

        This role has the potential to be fully remote. You will work from 9am to 6pm part-time for a minimum of three days a week. When possible, you may need to travel to your learners' workplaces to deliver in person workshops.


        We run a dedicated learning calendar to hone craft skills in teaching, leadership, strategy and other relevant disciplines.

        • The application process is as follows. If successful you will progress through four stages:
          1. A short Zoom call to say hello and answer any questions you have about the company.

          2. A Zoom presentation demonstration with our Teaching Director and other team members. You will need to come prepared with a 10-minute presentation. Afterwards, they will ask some specific questions regarding the role and get to know you more.

          3. The third stage involves observing a workshop with one of our clients. For this you will need you to sign an NDA.

          4. Finally, we will make you an offer and if accepted, prepare a contract and onboard you!
