OVERVIEW

Decoded is looking for a friendly and motivated Learning Technologist to join our London team. You will be responsible for supporting learners on our cutting-edge Data Academy programme, getting a first-hand perspective of FTSE100 companies who are embedding data science and machine learning within their organisations. As part of our Learning Team, you will be responsible for the administration and onboarding of our learners into our LMS and student record platforms, working closely with all Decoded staff to ensure utilisation of our learning technology and platforms is fully optimised, identifying new and creative opportunities to automate processes and ensuring the best possible learner experience.


Our Data Academies are 6-18 month on-the-job Data Analyst programmes. Our accelerated technical skills development focuses on modern data science and machine learning. Content covered includes Python, R, SQL, deep machine learning algorithms and frameworks for the efficient handling of Big Data. You will be on the frontline of businesses adopting these cutting edge tools and resources, and will ultimately help them embrace data science at scale.



ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Learning Technologist at Decoded, you’re ultimately accountable for:


  • Reporting and analysis of learner progress through our SRS and LMS platforms
  • Liaising with the Data Science team, LXD and mentors where subject matter expertise is required
  • Liaising with programme managers and mentors to monitor learner progress
  • Updating content in our SRS and LMS platforms upon request from members of the Data Science and LXD team
  • Maintaining a reasonable response time to learner queries
  • Continuous improvement of our processes


SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SRS and LMS Platform Support

  • Monitor learner progress through our SRS/LMS platforms
  • Technical onboarding of learner cohorts into our SRS/LMS platforms
  • Assign activities to learners over the course of their programme
  • Identify and track learners who have fallen behind and liaise with Programme Managers
  • Alert Mentors to any subject matter questions
  • Ensure activities are marked in accordance with Standards and Qualifications
  • Alert Programme Managers to non-responsive learners in line with our escalation policies
  • Migration of data across LMS platforms and other online sources
  • Review upcoming changes and new features in the LMS Beta environment on a monthly basis
  • Track geographical groupings of learners who will e.g. attend workshops in different locations


Platform feedback

  • Raise support tickets with the SRS and LMS platform support teams
  • Communicate the status of bugs with the Decoded LMS team
  • Identify improvements to SRS/LMS platforms and feedback to support teams

    TEAM & REPORTING STRUCTURE

    Report into the Learning Management System Administrator.


    DAY-TO-DAY

    You will be in control and responsible for your time. You plan your working day around the best outcomes for success, identifying and prioritising projects against business need.

    Requirements

    WHO ARE YOU?

    Essential:

    • 1+ years experience in VLE/LMS support, SRS administration or service desk support roles
    • Proficiency managing blended learning long form (> 12 month) programmes
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Ability to work independently and in a team
    • An obsession with reliability and performance
    • Attention to detail
    • Proactivity
    • Passion for tech and education


    Bonus:

    • Experience in LTI or xAPI development and implementation
    • A background in higher education, apprenticeship provision, adult education or learning theory
    • Prior experience with Bud, Canvas, Articulate or Aptem
    • Prior experience administering student records and functional skills tracking
    • Experience using Zendesk
