Decoded is looking for an experienced and motivated Mentor Manager. You will be accountable for managing a team of Decoded Data Mentors in the UK and EMEA responsible for the delivery of apprenticeship programmes.
The Mentor Manager objectives are set out as follows:
Supporting a team of Mentors:
To deliver outstanding education and support to progress learners and exceed their potential
To help them establish and maintain highly effective partnerships with learners and employers
To exceed expectations in compliance with Ofsted, ESFA, partners, and other authorities
With their continuing professional development in data analysis and teamwork
As a Mentor Manager at Decoded, you’re ultimately accountable for:
SPECIFIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Mentor Team Management
Line managing the performance of a team of Data Mentors, supporting them to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment to their learners
Supporting a team of Data Mentors in establishing and maintaining highly effective partnerships with their learners and their learners’ employers
Setting group and team objectives in terms of achievement and progression of learning
Ensuring key processes and practice are followed and tested by embedding regular caseload reviews with Data Mentors and IQAs
Providing feedback to the management team and other parts of the business flagging any issues that require support.
Using data to understand improvements to performance and achievement targets
Driving MI and ensuring we are collecting the right data to support Data Mentor development.
Drive and embed excellent safeguarding practices within the Mentor team
Ensure the Mentorship team receive regular training to allow them to carry out their safeguarding and prevent duties with learners
Quality and Compliance
Working with our Quality and Compliance team to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation in particular Ofsted and ESFA rules from a Data Mentor responsibility perspective.
Monitoring funding requirements such as learner OTJ calculations and progression
Working closely with the Head of Programme Management to ensure decisions are made with programme success in mind
Working closely with the Teaching Director to create a brilliant working environment for the Mentorship Team that supports innovative thinking and collaboration
Working closely with Quality & Compliance to ensure excellent education practice is in place and funding requirements are adhered to
Working closely with the Curriculum Manager to ensure Data Mentors are delivering our most up-to-date content
Working closely with our L&D Coach and the Director of Quality and Compliance to ensure Data Mentors are regularly undergoing CPD, coaching interventions and are delivering high-quality teaching in a compliant fashion
WHO ARE YOU?
You have 3+ years of experience in the operational management of teams within apprenticeship delivery and have some assessment experience
You have 2+ years of experience in managing projects and people in a fast-paced environment
You are a strong communicator and can introduce new ideas confidently
You have an understanding of, and interest in tech and innovations.
Experience in data analysis is a strong plus
Experience beyond the further education sector is a strong plus
You have a positive and ‘roll up your sleeves’ - attitude (we are at a high growth stage and keen to improve current functions)

You are detail-oriented and organised
You have a track record in developing/improving existing processes.

You will report to the Teaching Director, managing a team of up to 12 Data Mentors.
LEARNING & PROGRESSION
We run a dedicated learning calendar to hone craft skills in teaching, leadership, strategy and other relevant disciplines.
